General Health
·
CT Scan
- Full body scan and calcium scoring of the heart; anatomical scan
also includes abdomen, pelvic area & chest and can detect cysts, tumors,
any additional ‘compromises’ in the body
·
CBC –
complete blood count – analyzes the number of red and white blood cells
and platelets; an indicator of general health
·
Blood
Chemistry – measures levels of sodium, potassium , calcium, other
electrolytes and minerals
·
Urinalysis – screening for disease of the kidneys, diabetes, bladder
infection, and some cancers
·
Metabolic Panel - Screens for diabetes, liver, kidney disease, electrolyte
imbalance and protein abnormalities

Uric
Acid – elevated levels can precipitate gout

Artery/IMT (Intermedial thickening) ultrasound (age 50 and over)

Treadmill Stress Test (also allows us to set the training heart rate)

Homocysteine – screening for arteriosclerosis; high levels are associated
with stroke, Alzheimer’s & Osteoperosis

LP(a) –
high levels are associated with an increased risk of developing coronary
artery disease
·
Hs-CRP –
screening for increased risk of cardiovascular event
[If a high
risk for cardiac events is determined through a review of medical history,
physical or otherwise, more extensive testing can be done in this area.]

Hemoccult - A chemical test for blood in the stool not apparent to
visual inspection. Three separate stool samples are examined for trace

Body Composition

evaluation of body composition is essential prior to making specific
recommendations about a person’s need to lose or gain body weight.
Excessive levels of body fat are associated with a number of significant
chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease.
Measurement of:

Flexibility of hamstrings – inflexibility often the cause of low back pain

BMI –
body mass index. The BMI is one of the most accurate ways to determine
whether or not an adult is overweight. BMI uses a person's weight and
height to gauge total body fat.

the number of calories you burn while at rest utilizing the MedGem tool
·
VO2 -
oxygen uptake into the bloodstream
Nutrition Consultation
·
Client’s
current dietary habits are assessed and reviewed.
·
Practical, individualized recommendations are
made toward an optimum caloric and nutritional balance. Counseling
includes recommended dietary changes designed to help modify risk factors,
setting of annual goals, periodic follow up throughout the year.
Exercise Prescription
·
Client’s
current fitness program evaluated
·
Customized “functional fitness” program is developed -- the goal of which
is to prepare the body to perform daily activities without pain, injury or
discomfort. Emphasis will be placed on learning to use multiple muscle
groups in an integrated way challenging the body to work collectively as a
whole toward optimal health and as aid in stress management.
Predetermined, periodic follow up will occur throughout the year.
Stress Management
·
Facilitate client’s achievement of a greater sense of self-awareness
regarding body, life, and behavior patterns enabling client to deal more
effectively with any personal stress related issues.

Develop
a course of action to transform the areas that do not support good health
and sense of well being with periodic follow up throughout the year.
Annual Follow-Up
Consultations
Periodic follow up and coaching by the One team for the year following the
one day assessment. Timing is established in partnership with the
physician during the on-site physician’s results review at the conclusion
of the day.
